Ukomu Igala Organization Takes Security Engagement to Communities Across the Region
Retired military generals and other critical stakeholders have embarked on a security engagement across Kogi East under the auspices of Ukomu Igala Organization, the largest socio-cultural organization representing the Igala people.
The initiative, which focuses on security and the protection of lives and property, has moved through Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala, with the engagement scheduled to round off in Idah Federal Constituency.
The meetings bring together community leaders, traditional institutions, security stakeholders and other concerned citizens to discuss security challenges affecting communities across the region and explore practical approaches to strengthening peace and security.
The retired military officers, drawing from their experience in national security and military service, have provided perspectives on the evolving security situation while encouraging communities to play an active role in supporting peaceful and secure environments.

The engagements have also provided an opportunity for residents and local stakeholders to express their concerns, identify security challenges peculiar to their communities and make recommendations for improved collaboration among communities, traditional institutions, government and security agencies.
The movement across the various federal constituencies underscores the need for a coordinated regional approach to security, rather than treating security challenges as isolated incidents in individual communities.
As the engagement proceeds to Idah Federal Constituency, stakeholders are expected to further deliberate on the security situation across Kogi East and possible measures to strengthen community resilience, intelligence sharing and cooperation with relevant security authorities.
For Ukomu Igala Organization, the initiative represents a continued effort to bring Igala communities together to address issues affecting their collective peace, safety and development.
