Alh. Iliyasu Salamat Yahaya, popularly known as Onechojon and professionally branded as Aio White, is a Nigerian broadcast journalist, media entrepreneur, public affairs commentator, educationist, master of ceremonies, public relations consultant, and Pan-African advocate. He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Unity Star TV Africa (USTV Africa), a pan-African digital television platform dedicated to promoting credible journalism, good governance, African development, entrepreneurship, and the preservation of indigenous cultural heritage.

With extensive experience in journalism, media management, public communication, and community development, Alh. Iliyasu has earned a reputation for balanced reporting, insightful political analysis, and objective coverage of issues affecting Nigeria and the African continent. Under his leadership, USTV Africa has grown into a respected digital media platform covering national affairs, legislative activities, governance, security, judicial proceedings, business, culture, and social development, while providing a platform for informed public discourse and African-centered storytelling.

Professional Experience

Before venturing fully into journalism and media entrepreneurship, Alh. Iliyasu served for many years as a professional classroom instructor and is now a retired education professional and pensioner, having contributed significantly to the development of young minds through teaching.

He also served as a Legislative Aide to a Member of the House of Representatives during Nigeria’s 9th National Assembly, where he gained valuable experience in legislative processes, public policy, and governance.

Over the years, he has worked as a media consultant to various national and international organizations, providing strategic communication, media relations, public engagement, and image management services.

In addition, he is an experienced Public Relations Consultant, professional Master of Ceremonies (MC), and event manager, offering services for conferences, corporate events, public functions, and special ceremonies.

Pan-African Engagement

Alh. Iliyasu is actively involved in Pan-African advocacy and collaborates with organizations that promote African unity, development, education, entrepreneurship, and regional cooperation. Through his professional engagements, he continues to encourage stronger partnerships among Africans at home and in the diaspora.

Humanitarian and Community Development

Driven by a passion for service, Alh. Iliyasu founded the Africans For Africa Development Initiative (AFADI), a non-governmental organization established to promote sustainable development and improve the lives of Africans through education, empowerment, advocacy, and humanitarian interventions.

Through AFADI, he has championed initiatives aimed at:
